Our garden room process

Although each project is unique, we have perfected our process to ensure that your garden room is completed on time and within budget.

Take time to understand how we work from start to finish! Our process here at Garden Rooms consists of nine clear stages, which you can read about in more detail below. For more information, or to find out more getting your own garden room, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Our Process

Enquiry

It all begins with an initial conversation, either face to face or by the phone, although we strongly recommend a visit to our showrooms first.

You can ask as many questions as you like and we can give you advice on all the various aspects regarding design, size, doors and windows configuration etc. Our staff will be more than happy to assist you and share their knowledge about our garden rooms with you!

the 1st step in our garden rooms process is to visit our indoor showrrom to discuss your garden room needs
next stage in our process would be to design your garden room

Design

As every garden room is designed bespoke for each client, we produce floor and elevation plans, offering our customers a full design service. This will give you the chance to see on screen what your garden room would look like and to get a fixed quote.

Survey & Quote

The next step would be for us to book you an appointment with our experienced surveyor to carry out a site survey. The site survey gives us the chance to see your outside space and to really understand what it is you are ideally looking for. This will help us to assess: your ground conditions, electrical services, access, location & design. Based on your requirements and ground conditions, our surveyor will then be able to confirm your garden room design, to suit your style, property and budget.

step 3 in our process is that our experienced surveyor will carry out the site survey to confirm your garden room design
the 4th step in our process is to take a 20% deposit to confirm your gardnen room order

Deposit

When you are happy with your garden room design and fixed quote, contact us to confirm your order. At this stage, we require a 40% deposit. This secures your place in our schedule and allows us to start the manufacture of your garden room.

Manufacture

Once the design of your garden room is complete, we manufacture your timber kit in our Dumfries based workshop. The off-site fabrication of your timber kit makes erection on site easier and quicker. All our materials are sourced from local suppliers.

the 2nd stage payment for your garden room is the pre delivery part of our process

Pre-delivery payment

After we confirm the installation schedule, prior to delivery, we will require a 40% payment. This deposit is to ensure we can get the materials for the job, as well as covering any costs we incur in building your bespoke garden room.

Delivery & Build

During the build process, the team will consult with you at every stage of the construction. Depending on the size of your garden room this will take approximately 7 to 10 days to complete.

Planning

garden room office

If you’re doing small building work on your home, you might not need to get planning permission if it does not affect the area around it. This is called ‘permitted development’. Our units are designed to work within this framework, while also being built fully to code to ensure ease of gaining planning permissions when permitted development does not apply.

Garden Room Specification

Our 20 years experience in building timber kit houses has ensured our garden rooms are built to the highest standard and are built to suit your needs at very competitive prices.

We manufacture our garden rooms in our workshop, where they are designed and built to the same exacting quality and standards as a modern timber-framed house.

Gin & Tonics in the garden just got much more enjoyable thanks to our gorgeous new garden room! A huge, overdue thank you to Joe, Lee and Angela for such first class, super friendly service. Special thanks also to Jim and team who worked diligently throughout and are a real credit to the company. We’re loving our spacious, multipurpose room - by day it’s the action packed HQ of The Love Bug D&G, SW Scotland’s Classic VW Co., by night it’s a relaxing cinema room and bar! Do visit their Douivale showroom, the display will help you decide what would work best for you. We opted for colour changing LED lighting - a big hit with my daughter for parties and sleepovers! Highly recommend Garden Rooms Scotland - these guys will go the extra mile, working with you to ensure you get the garden room of your dreams.
